My Diabetic Journey
One specific area I am passionate about helping you with is diabetes. Because I have decades of experience with it, from being diagnosed at age five and studying it for years. The overwhelming initial hospitalization taught me the importance of understanding chronic conditions, often overlooked in today’s rush to discharge patients. Also, taking responsibility for my insulin injections at a young age taught me resilience—never letting diabetes, or any other health obstacle, hinder your pursuits.
Then, in my late teens, I experienced a diabetic coma and the nurse’s empathetic care inspired me to make a career of nursing. So, it has been a labor of love. With nearly two decades in nursing and a Master’s in Nursing Education, I established “My Nurse Advocate, LLC.” Here, I empower individuals, diabetic or not, with personalized healthcare plans—medications, diets, lifestyle adjustments—aiming to provide unwavering support. My goal is simple: enable everyone to embrace life’s fullest potential, ensuring no one navigates healthcare complexities alone.
